From the center of Strendur, head east toward the main road (Road 1). Once you reach the road, turn left (north) and follow it for about 1.5 km. You will pass through the beautiful countryside, enjoying the views of the surrounding hills. After approximately 1.5 km, look for a sign that indicates the direction to Sandvík. Follow the sign to the right onto Støðarvegur. Continue along Støðarvegur for about 2 km until you reach the Sigmundur Brestisson Memorial located at 7 Støðarvegur in Sandvík. The memorial is situated on the left side of the road, and it’s a notable historical landmark that is hard to miss.
