Walking
From the center of Strendur, head east toward the main road (Road 1). Once you reach the road, turn left (north) and follow it for about 1.5 km. You will pass through the beautiful countryside, enjoying the views of the surrounding hills. After approximately 1.5 km, look for a sign that indicates the direction to Sandvík. Follow the sign to the right onto Støðarvegur. Continue along Støðarvegur for about 2 km until you reach the Sigmundur Brestisson Memorial located at 7 Støðarvegur in Sandvík. The memorial is situated on the left side of the road, and it’s a notable historical landmark that is hard to miss.

From the Strendur town center, walk to the nearest bus stop. Check the local bus schedule for a bus heading towards Sandvík. Once on the bus, stay on for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the Sandvík stop. After getting off, walk west along Støðarvegur for about 500 meters until you see the Sigmundur Brestisson Memorial at 7 Støðarvegur. The memorial is a short walk from the bus stop, and you will easily spot it once you are on the road.
