Starting from the center of Strendur, head towards the main road (Strandvegin). Walk along this road in the direction of the village of Saltsang. Continue for approximately 2 km until you reach the fork in the road. At the fork, take the left path that leads you uphill. The trail is marked and will take you closer to the cliffs of Stóritindur.

After about 1 km of uphill walking, you will reach a viewpoint area where you can see the surrounding landscape. From here, continue on the marked path that will guide you towards the base of Stóritindur. This section of the hike is approximately 1.5 km long and includes some rocky terrain, so be cautious.
