Car
From Tórshavn, drive towards the village of Vestmanna. Take the main road Route 10, heading northwest. After approximately 25 km, you will reach a sign for Svartafoss at the road fork. Take the right turn onto Route 11 towards Lítla Dímun. Continue on this road until you find a small parking area near the trailhead for Svartafoss. The GPS coordinates for the parking area are approximately 62.0261° N, 6.7807° W.
Public Transportation
Take a bus from Tórshavn to Vestmanna. You can find the bus schedule on the local transportation website. Once you arrive in Vestmanna, you will need to take a taxi or arrange for local transport to reach the trailhead for Svartafoss. Be sure to confirm if the taxi service is available, as it may not be frequent. The hike to Svartafoss from the nearest drop-off point will take around 30-45 minutes.
Hiking
From the parking area, follow the marked hiking trail towards Svartafoss. The path is well-maintained but can be steep in sections. It is advisable to wear sturdy hiking boots. The hike takes about 30 minutes one way, and you will be greeted by beautiful views along the way. Please ensure you carry sufficient water and snacks for the journey.
