Car
If you are driving from the Vágar Airport, take Route 40 towards Sørvágur. Continue on Route 40 for about 10 kilometers (approximately 10 minutes). Once you reach Sørvágur, follow the signs to Sørvágsfjørður. The fjord is easily accessible and you can find parking along the waterfront.
Public Transportation
To reach Sørvágsfjørður by public transport, take the bus from the Vágar Airport to Sørvágur. Buses are operated by SSL (Samband Føroya), and you can check the schedule on their website or at the airport. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Sørvágur, it’s a short walk (approximately 15 minutes) down to Sørvágsfjørður. Follow the signs towards the water.
Taxi
For a more direct option, you can take a taxi from any location in Vágar directly to Sørvágsfjørður. Taxi services are available at the airport and throughout the island. The fare may vary, but expect to pay around 200-300 DKK depending on your pick-up location and time of day.
