Walking
Start your journey at the Vágur town center. From the main square, head towards the harbor and follow the path along the water. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with the main road, Route 10. Turn left onto Route 10 and walk for approximately 1 kilometer. Keep an eye out for the signpost for Hvannhagi. After about 1 kilometer, you will see a path leading uphill on your right. Follow this path, which is well-marked, and continue to walk for about 30 minutes until you reach Hvannhagi.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Vágur. From the rental place, head towards the harbor and take the scenic route along the coastline. Follow the same route as described for walking, but you can cycle along Route 10. Remember to pedal carefully as the road can be narrow at times. After approximately 1 kilometer, look for the signpost directing you to Hvannhagi and take the path leading uphill on your right. Cycle up the hill for about 30 minutes until you arrive at your destination.
Hiking
For the adventurous, consider taking a hiking route from Vágur. Start at the town center and make your way towards the harbor. Follow the coastline and continue onto Route 10. Instead of walking on the road, look for a hiking trail that branches off towards the hills. This trail will lead you directly towards Hvannhagi but requires good hiking shoes and a moderate fitness level. The hike will take about 1 hour depending on your pace and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
