Mount Korobaba, rising 422 meters (1,385 feet) above sea level, offers arguably the best panoramic views of Suva, Fiji. The mountain is located just outside of Lami, about 20 minutes from Suva. The trail to the summit winds through a dense tropical rainforest, with diverse flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for native birds and unique plant species along the way. The hike is considered moderately challenging, typically taking 2.5 to 4 hours to complete. The trail can be slippery, especially after rain, so sturdy hiking shoes are recommended. Starting the hike early in the morning is advisable to avoid the midday heat and to catch the sunrise over Suva Harbor. Mount Korobaba holds cultural significance, with local legends and traditions woven into its history. The mountain belongs to the Mataqali (Clan) Natodre of Waiqanake village and once served as a tribal outpost. Public Transport
From Suva, take a bus towards Lami. The Wailekutu shore bus from the Suva bus stand (Terminal 3) will take you to Lami (Cement factory) for around FJD $1.45. Get off at the fisheries depot in Lami, across from the cement factory. From there, walk to the Tengy cement factory and find the trail that starts beside the gate, leading behind the factory into the forest.

Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Suva. A taxi from Suva to the base of Mount Korobaba will cost approximately FJD 30-50, depending on traffic and negotiation. Ensure you agree on the fare before starting the trip. The taxi will drop you off near the trailhead by the cement factory.

Walking
From the fisheries depot in Lami (where the bus drops you off), walk towards the Tengy cement factory. The trailhead is located beside the gate of the factory, leading behind it into the forest. The walk from the main road to the trailhead is approximately 15-20 minutes. There is no fee for accessing the trail.
