If you are driving, start from the main town of Mariehamn. Head north on the Eckerö road (Road 1) and follow the signs for Eckerö. After approximately 25 kilometers, you will reach a ferry terminal. Take the ferry to the island of Eckerö, which runs frequently and takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive on Eckerö, continue driving north on the main road (Road 1) for about 10 kilometers. Look for signs directing you towards Flatto Island. The final stretch may require some local road navigation, as Flatto is a smaller island and might not be well-marked on all maps.

For those using public transport, take a bus from Mariehamn to Eckerö. Buses run regularly and the journey takes about 40 minutes. Once you get off at the Eckerö stop, you will need to walk to the ferry terminal, which is about 1 kilometer away. Purchase a ferry ticket to cross to Eckerö Island. After disembarking, you will need to either rent a bike or take a local taxi to reach Flatto, as public transport on the smaller islands is limited.
