Getting There

  • Driving

    The most common way to arrive to Kauhaneva-Pohjankangas National Park is by car. The park is located approximately 130 km from Tampere, 105 km from Pori and 90 km from Seinäjoki. There are two main parking areas: Salomaa and Nummikangas. From the north, access Nummikangas via Karviantie. From the south, access Salomaa via Latikantie. Note that the Kyrönkangas summer road between Salomaa and Nummikangas is closed to car traffic. Parking is free. There are no winter services at Nummikangas.

  • Public Transport

    While public transport directly to the park is limited, you can take a bus to Karvia and then a taxi to the park. From Helsinki, take an Onni Bus to Parkano, then transfer to a bus to Karvia. From Karvia, a taxi to Salomaa parking area will cost approximately €85-€110. Bus fare from Helsinki to Parkano is approximately €15-€20. Bus fare from Parkano to Karvia is approximately €11-€15. Check local bus schedules for the most up-to-date information.
