From Hanko city center, the Hangon Vesitorni is approximately a 20-minute walk. Head towards Christiersonintie, following the coastal road for scenic views of the Archipelago Sea. The tower is a short distance from the waterfront.

From the Hanko train station, take bus number 1 towards Hanko Centre. Get off at the 'Vesitorni' stop, which is a short walk from the observation tower on Christiersonintie 10. Overview

The Hangon Vesitorni, an iconic landmark in Hanko, Finland, offers visitors a chance to experience breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Completed in 1943, during the Continuation War, the tower stands 65 meters above sea level. It replaced an older water tower that was destroyed in 1941 during the Winter War.As you ascend the spiral staircase or take the elevator, you'll be treated to stunning vistas that stretch across the archipelago, the shimmering Baltic Sea, and the charming rooftops of Hanko. The tower is 48 meters high. From the top, you can spot two harbors and the remains of a steel factory 10 kilometers away.Surrounding the tower, you can explore lush greenery and picturesque pathways leading to scenic spots. The area is perfect for leisurely strolls and picnics. The tower also serves as a reminder of Hanko's resilient spirit, a key port city throughout Finland's history. The tower has an information point during the summer.
