Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the Archipelago Sea region, take Route 1 (E18) towards Turku and then continue to follow signs for E75 towards Rovaniemi. The journey will take approximately 5-6 hours depending on traffic and weather conditions. Once you arrive in Rovaniemi, follow the signs to the city center. Arktikum is located at Pohjoisranta 4, which is along the riverbank. There is parking available nearby, but be mindful of parking regulations.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    To reach Arktikum via public transportation, take a bus from the nearest bus station in the Archipelago Sea to Rovaniemi. You may need to transfer buses in Turku or Helsinki. Check the schedules on the Matkahuolto website for current routes. Once you arrive at the Rovaniemi bus station, Arktikum is approximately a 15-minute walk. Head east on Korkalonkatu, turn right onto Rautatiekatu, and continue straight until you reach Pohjoisranta where Arktikum will be on your left.

  • Public Transportation (Train)

    Travel by train from the nearest station in the Archipelago Sea to Rovaniemi. The train journey may require a transfer in Helsinki. Once you arrive at Rovaniemi train station, you can either walk to Arktikum or take a local bus (bus number 8) to the city center. Walking takes about 25 minutes; simply head west on Valtakatu, then turn right onto Pohjoisranta where Arktikum is located.
