Public Transport
From Espoo city center, walk to the bus stop at 'Espoon keskus' (Espoo Center). Take bus number 106 or 107 towards 'Helsinki' and travel for about 20 minutes. Get off at 'Helsinki, Sörnäinen'. From there, transfer to metro line M1 towards 'Rautatientori' and travel for 5 stops. Disembark at 'Kaisaniemi' station. Exit the station and walk towards 'Kaivokatu'. Continue straight until you reach 'Mannerheimintie'. The cannon is located in 'Esplanadi Park', which is a 10-minute walk from the metro station. Look out for signs directing you to the park.
Walking
If you are already in central Espoo, you can take a scenic walk. Start at Espoo's main square and head towards 'Kauppakeskus Iso Omena'. From there, take the pedestrian route to 'Länsiväylä', where you can catch bus number 105 or 106 to Helsinki. Once you reach Helsinki, navigate to 'Esplanadi Park' which is home to Ukko Aalto's cannon. It’s approximately a 15-20 minute walk from the bus stop to the cannon.
Biking
For those who prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the many bike-sharing stations in Espoo. Start your ride from 'Espoo Metro Station' and follow the cycle paths towards 'Helsinki'. The route will take you along the coastline, providing great views. Once you reach the city center of Helsinki, head towards 'Esplanadi Park', where Ukko Aalto's cannon is located. The biking distance is about 15 km and takes approximately 40-50 minutes.
