Discover more about Exhibition Centre WeeGee

Exhibition Centre WeeGee is a dynamic center for museums, exhibitions, and events located in Tapiola, Espoo. The building itself is a significant example of Finnish constructivist architecture, designed by Professor Aarno Ruusuvuori. Originally built as the Weilin&Göös printing house, it was completed in phases in 1964 and 1967. The printing operations were relocated in 1992, and in 2001 the City of Espoo purchased the property. The exhibition center opened to the public in October 2006. WeeGee is home to several cultural institutions, including EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, which showcases Finnish and international modern and contemporary art. KAMU, the Espoo City Museum, preserves and displays the history of Espoo from the Stone Age to the present day. The Mauri Kunnas Exhibition displays the work of the beloved Finnish author and illustrator. In the yard, visitors can explore the Futuro House, a plastic house designed by Matti Suuronen, representing the experimental forms and optimistic ideas of the 1960s space-age architecture. The architecture of WeeGee is notable for its clean-lined, minimalist design. Originally designed to minimize direct sunlight, the building features a distinctive concrete structure and a glass north facade. The interior retains many of its original features, including exposed roof structures and concrete floors. WeeGee welcomes over 300,000 visitors annually.
