Getting There

  • Driving

    To reach Pisamalahti Hill Fort from Sulkava, drive along Uitonrinne and continue straight for about 200 meters. Turn left onto Saarentie and continue for approximately 2.4 km. Then, turn right onto Linnavuorentie, where the hill fort is located. Follow Linnavuorentie until you see signs for the hill fort parking area. From the parking area, it's a walk of approximately 0.5 kilometers to the hill fort. Parking is free. Note that parking can be limited during peak season.

    Pisamalahti Hill Fort can also be accessed by boat via Lake Saimaa. There is an excursion harbor at the foot of the hill fort with two piers for boats. From the quay, a marked path leads to the site. Note that when approaching Sulkava by boat, the bridge has a height of 12 meters. Docking is free.
