Walking
From Eira, head northeast on Eira Street (Eiran katu) towards Hietaniemenkatu. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Hietaniemenkatu. Turn left onto Hietaniemenkatu and walk until you reach the intersection with Ruoholahdenkatu. Turn right onto Ruoholahdenkatu and follow it until you reach the waterfront. Continue walking along the waterfront path, which will lead you towards the city center. Keep an eye out for the signs pointing towards Senate Square (Senaatintori). As you approach the city center, you will see the iconic Helsinki Cathedral ahead. Follow the path leading directly to the square.
Public Transport - Tram
From Eira, walk to the nearest tram stop, which is located at the intersection of Hietaniemenkatu and Ruoholahdenkatu. Take tram number 2 or 3 heading towards the city center. You will need to purchase a ticket before boarding, which costs approximately €2.90 for a single journey. Ride the tram for about 5 stops until you reach the 'Kauppatori' (Market Square) stop. From there, walk approximately 10 minutes towards Senate Square, following the signs for the Helsinki Cathedral, which is visible from the square.
Public Transport - Bus
From Eira, head to the nearest bus stop located at Hietaniementie. Catch bus number 24 heading towards 'Kamppi'. Ensure you purchase a ticket in advance, which costs around €2.90 for a single journey. Ride the bus for about 10 minutes and get off at the 'Mannerheimintie' stop. From there, walk towards the Esplanadi Park and follow the signs towards Senate Square. The walk from Mannerheimintie to the square will take you approximately 15 minutes.
