Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Jyväskylä city center, head to the Jyväskylä bus station (Jyväskylän linja-autoasema). You can take bus number 3 (Säynätsalo) which departs regularly from this station. The bus journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to get off at the 'Säynätsalo, Melalammentie' stop. From there, walk approximately 700 meters to the Alvar Aalto Experimental House located at Melalammentie 6. The house will be on your left as you walk along Melalammentie.

    If you are in the center of Jyväskylä, you can walk to the Alvar Aalto Experimental House, though it is quite a long distance (about 8 kilometers). Head northwest on Kauppakatu toward Vapaudenkatu, then turn left onto Vapaudenkatu. Continue straight until you reach the lakeside path, which you can follow toward Säynätsalo. The path will eventually merge with Melalammentie, where you will find the Experimental House at number 6.
