Ferry
The primary way to reach Fort Elizabeth is by ferry from Sapokka in Kotka. The M/S Klippan ferry, operated by Ravintola Vaakku, makes regular trips to Varissaari Island. The journey takes approximately 10 minutes. The ferry departs from in front of Ravintola Tulikukko, Sapokankatu 3. A round-trip ticket costs €9 for adults and €5 for children. Tickets are sold on the boat. Check the Ravintola Vaakku website for the most up-to-date schedule, as it varies seasonally.
Public Transport
From the Kotka city center, you can reach Sapokka by bus or by foot. Several bus lines serve the Sapokka area. Check local bus schedules for the most convenient route. Alternatively, it's approximately a 20-30 minute walk from the central areas of Kotka to Sapokka, following well-marked paths along the waterfront.
