From Helsinki city center, take the metro to Kaisaniemi station. Transfer to tram line 3 towards Katajanokka. Get off at the Katajanokka tram stop and walk towards the waterfront to the ferry terminal. Purchase a ferry ticket to Katajanokanluoto. A single HSL ticket for zones AB costs €3.20. The ferry to the island is an additional cost.

The primary access to Katajanokanluoto is via a regularly scheduled ferry from Meritullintori. Meritullintori is located just behind the red Relandersgrund lighthouse boat.
