These barracks, dating back to the late 19th century, were designed by architects E.B. Lohrmann and A. Boman.The museum's exhibits are spread across two wooden barracks. The main building focuses on the infantry of independent Finland, covering events from the Civil War in 1918 to the War of Lapland. Displays include arms, equipment, and accounts of key 20th-century conflicts such as the Winter War and the Continuation War. A Hall of Knights commemorates the Mannerheim Cross recipients of the infantry. The second building hosts special exhibitions.Visitors can explore a collection of military uniforms, firearms, and other equipment. Dioramas and photographs depict significant battles such as Tuulos and Ihantala. The museum also collects and displays donated military items from private individuals.
