Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards the city of Lappeenranta. From Lappeenranta, follow signs for Route 6 (E18) towards Imatra. Continue on Route 6 for approximately 30 kilometers. Take the exit for Saimaa and follow the road signs to the lake area. You should see signs for various viewpoints and recreational areas around Saimaa as you approach.
Public Transportation
To reach Saimaa by public transportation, take a bus from Lappeenranta’s main bus station. Look for buses heading towards Imatra or Ruokolahti. The journey takes about 50 minutes to 1 hour. Get off at the stop closest to Saimaa, such as 'Saimaa Lakeside' or similar, and follow the signs to the lake area or inquire with locals for directions to the best access points.
