Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from anywhere in the Turku Archipelago, head towards the mainland and make your way to Turku city. Use the road signs to follow the E18 highway towards Turku. Once you reach Turku, follow the signs for the city center. You will want to take the exit for Aninkaistenkatu. The National Archives of Finland is located at Aninkaistenkatu 11, which is easily accessible. There is street parking available in the vicinity, but be aware that parking fees may apply.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from any of the islands in the Turku Archipelago to Turku. Check the local bus schedules for routes, as they can vary. Once you arrive at the Turku bus station, transfer to bus line 1 or 2, which will take you towards the city center. Get off at the stop called 'Kauppatori' (Market Square). From there, it's a short walk to Aninkaistenkatu. The National Archives is about a 10-minute walk; head east on Aurakatu, then turn left onto Aninkaistenkatu. The estimated cost for the bus ride is around €5-10, depending on your starting location.

• Public Transportation - Ferry and Bus

  If you are coming from one of the islands that have ferry service, take the ferry to Turku. Upon arrival at the Turku harbor, you can catch a local bus (line 1 or 2) from the harbor to the city center. Disembark at 'Kauppatori' and then walk the remaining distance to Aninkaistenkatu 11. The ferry fare varies by operator but generally ranges from €10-15. Additionally, the bus fare will be around €5-10.
