Car
If you are driving from the center of Ylläs, start by heading south on Ylläsjärventie (Road 955). Continue driving for about 40 kilometers until you reach the junction with Road 21. Take a right on Road 21 towards Helsinki. Follow this road for approximately 130 kilometers. As you approach Helsinki, keep in mind that you will need to follow the signs for the city center. Once in the city, take exit 2 for Mannerheimintie/Route 4. Continue on Mannerheimintie and then turn left onto Aleksanterinkatu. Finally, take a right onto Kirstinkuja, where the Worker Housing Museum is located at number 4.
Public Transportation
To reach The Worker Housing Museum using public transportation, start at the Ylläs bus station. Take the bus heading to Rovaniemi, which runs several times a day. Make sure to check the schedule for departure times. After approximately 2 hours, you will arrive at the Rovaniemi bus station. From there, switch to a bus heading to Helsinki, which takes about 8 hours. Upon arrival in Helsinki, take tram line 7 or 9 from the central station and get off at the stop 'Kamppi.' Walk towards Aleksanterinkatu and turn right onto Kirstinkuja; the museum will be at number 4. Be sure to check the bus schedules beforehand as public transport can have varying frequencies.
