To reach Fort De Soto Park from the Clearwater area, first locate the nearest bus stop for the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA). You can take the PSTA Bus Route 60, which runs frequently. Board the bus heading towards St. Petersburg. Once you reach the 'Tierra Verde' stop, disembark. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles south along Pinellas Bayway S. Follow the signs directing you to Fort De Soto Park. The park entrance will be on your right.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Clearwater. Once you have your bike, head south on Mandalay Ave until you reach the Clearwater Memorial Causeway. Cross over the causeway and continue straight onto Gulf Blvd. Stay on Gulf Blvd until it merges into Pinellas Bayway S. Continue on this road for about 4 miles until you reach the entrance of Fort De Soto Park.

If you are feeling adventurous and are staying relatively close to Fort De Soto Park, you can walk. Start at your accommodation and head south toward Pinellas Bayway S. Once you reach the Bayway, walk along it heading south for approximately 3 miles. Be aware that this route does not have sidewalks for all parts, so exercise caution while walking. The park entrance will be on your left.
