Continue on Luke Avenue for about 0.3 miles, and you will find James Lee Beach on your left at 4565 Luke Ave. There is a parking lot available for visitors, but be aware that parking may incur a small fee during peak seasons.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, check the local bus service, which operates in the Destin area. You can catch the Emerald Coast Transit bus (Route 1) to get to the nearest stop. Ask the driver to let you off at the 'Luke Avenue' stop. From there, it’s a short walk (about 0.2 miles) down Luke Avenue to reach James Lee Beach. Make sure to double-check the bus schedule for return times, as services may be limited, especially on weekends.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, Destin Beach is very bike-friendly. Rent a bike from one of the local shops. Head east on Highway 98, then turn onto Luke Avenue. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace. There are bike racks available at James Lee Beach for you to secure your bike while you enjoy the beach.
Walk
If you are staying nearby and want to walk, it's quite pleasant. From the main tourist area in Destin, head east on Highway 98 and then turn onto Luke Avenue. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles and should take about 30-40 minutes. It's a nice way to enjoy the scenery along the way. Just make sure to stay on the sidewalks for safety.
