From the downtown Gainesville area, locate the nearest bus stop for the Regional Transit System (RTS). Take Bus Route 5, which goes towards the Haile Plantation. Stay on the bus for approximately 20-25 minutes. Get off at the 'Lake Shore Drive & 74th Street' stop. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to Palm Point Park. Head west on Lake Shore Drive until you reach the park entrance at 7401 Lake Shore Dr.

Continue until you reach 34th Street and turn left. Follow 34th Street until you reach Lake Shore Drive. For those who enjoy walking, you can begin at the Gainesville City Hall located at 200 East University Avenue. Walk north on East University Avenue until you reach 34th Street. Turn left on 34th Street and continue walking until you reach Lake Shore Drive. Turn right on Lake Shore Drive. The park will be approximately a 1.5-mile walk from this point, and you will see the entrance to Palm Point Park at 7401 Lake Shore Dr.
