Public Bus
Start at the Homestead Transit Center located at 300 NE 2nd St. Take bus route 38 towards Florida City. After 15 minutes, get off at the stop at the intersection of SW 344th St and SW 162nd Ave. From there, walk south on SW 162nd Ave for about 10 minutes until you reach the entrance of Biscayne National Park. Here, you can catch a ferry to Boca Chita Key, which is the destination.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local shops in downtown Homestead. Head southeast on NE 1st Ave towards SW 8th St, then turn right onto SW 8th St and follow it until you reach the entrance of Biscayne National Park. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. From there, you can take a ferry to Boca Chita Key.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and want to walk, start at the Homestead City Hall located at 100 Civic Ct. Walk east on NE 1st St until you reach the intersection with SW 12th Ave. Head south on SW 12th Ave and continue straight until you reach the entrance of Biscayne National Park. The walk will take you about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once inside, catch a ferry to Boca Chita Key.
