Public Bus
To reach Nine Mile Pond Trail from the Homestead city center, take the Miami-Dade County Public Transit bus route 38 from the nearest bus stop on E Mowry Dr & N Krome Ave. Board the bus heading towards the Florida City Transit Center. Ride for approximately 20 minutes and get off at the bus stop at Florida City Transit Center. From there, transfer to bus route 31, which will take you directly towards the entrance of Everglades National Park. The stop you need to disembark is the 'Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center' stop. Once you get off the bus, walk about 0.5 miles along the road towards the entrance of the Nine Mile Pond Trail, which is located at 40001 State Hwy 9336. The trailhead will be on your right.

Bicycle Rental
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Homestead. Start from the city center and head southwest on N Krome Ave. Follow this road for about 8 miles, which takes you directly toward the Everglades National Park. Once you reach the intersection with State Hwy 9336, turn right, and continue for another mile. The entrance to Nine Mile Pond Trail will be on your left. Remember to wear a helmet and stay hydrated!

For those who prefer to walk, you can start from the Homestead city center. Head west on E Mowry Dr, then turn left onto N Krome Ave. Continue walking on N Krome Ave for approximately 6 miles. As you approach the intersection with State Hwy 9336, turn right and walk for about another mile until you reach the Nine Mile Pond Trail entrance. This option will take you about 2 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water!
