Car
If you're driving, start by heading south on Overseas Highway (US-1). Depending on your starting point in Islamorada, you may take either the northbound or southbound lanes. Continue on US-1 for about 10 miles until you reach Tavernier. Look for the Wild Bird Sanctuary located at 93600 Overseas Hwy, Tavernier, FL 33070, which will be on your right-hand side. There should be clear signage indicating the entrance. Parking is available on-site.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take the Florida Keys Shuttle service, which operates along the Overseas Highway. Make sure to check the shuttle schedule in advance. Ride the shuttle to Tavernier and get off at the Tavernier stop closest to 93600 Overseas Hwy. From there, it’s about a 5-minute walk to the Wild Bird Sanctuary. Head north on the Overseas Highway, and you will see the sanctuary on your left. Always confirm the shuttle's schedule as it may vary.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Islamorada, and follow the bike paths along the Overseas Highway. The distance is approximately 10 miles, so be prepared for a scenic ride. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow safety rules. Upon arrival, there is space to lock your bike securely.
