Start at the nearest bus stop in Jacksonville. If you're near downtown, you can catch the JTA (Jacksonville Transportation Authority) bus Route 5 or Route 9. Both routes will take you towards the Lakewood area. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at San Jose Blvd & University Blvd. Once you get off, walk south on San Jose Blvd for about 0.5 miles until you reach Stanford Rd. Turn left onto Stanford Rd and walk for a short distance until you reach Bird Island at 5621 Stanford Rd.
