Getting There

Public Transportation

Start by taking the Jacksonville Transit Authority (JTA) bus route 1 from the Jacksonville downtown area. Board the bus at any major stop, such as the Rosa Parks Transit Station. Ride the bus towards the Heckscher Drive and Fort George area. This bus will take you on a route that goes towards the north part of Jacksonville. You will need to stay on the bus until you reach the stop closest to the intersection of Heckscher Drive and Fort George Road. This should take approximately 40-50 minutes.

Once you arrive at the bus stop at Heckscher Drive, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to Little Talbot Island State Park. Head north on Heckscher Drive. You will see the entrance to Little Talbot Island State Park on your left. Make sure to follow the designated walking paths along the road for safety. This walk will take you about 30-40 minutes.
Bicycle Rental

If you're up for a more adventurous option, you can rent a bicycle from a local bike rental shop in downtown Jacksonville. After renting a bike, take the same route as the bus, cycling along Heckscher Drive. The bike ride to Little Talbot Island State Park is approximately 5 miles and should take around 20-30 minutes.
