If you are in the central area of Key Largo, start at the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce located at 106000 Overseas Hwy. Head south on Overseas Highway (US-1) for about 3.5 miles. Continue walking along the highway, and you will pass several shops and restaurants. Keep an eye out for the sign that says 'Islamorada' as you cross into the next town. After approximately 15-20 minutes, you'll reach the Hurricane Monument located at 81831 Old Hwy, Islamorada, FL 33036, which is on your right.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Key Largo. Start at the Key Largo Bike Shop located at 99320 Overseas Hwy. Head south on Overseas Highway (US-1) for about 3.5 miles. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes. As you ride, enjoy the scenic views of the water on your left and the beautiful Florida Keys landscape. When you reach the Hurricane Monument at 81831 Old Hwy, Islamorada, FL 33036, you can lock up your bike and take pictures.
Public Bus
Take the public bus service, the Keys Shuttle, which operates from various points in Key Largo. Head to the nearest bus stop and board the bus heading to Islamorada. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you get off at the Islamorada stop, walk about 5 minutes south down Old Highway (Highway 1) until you reach the Hurricane Monument located at 81831 Old Hwy, Islamorada, FL 33036.
