Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from the downtown area, head south on Whitehead Street until you reach the intersection with South Street. Turn left onto South Street and continue straight until you reach the traffic circle. At the circle, take the first exit onto Roosevelt Boulevard. Continue walking on Roosevelt Boulevard for about 1.5 miles, and you will see Smathers Beach on your left side. The beach entrance is located at 2601 S Roosevelt Blvd.

• Bicycle

  You can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in the downtown area. Once you have your bike, head south on Whitehead Street and take a left onto South Street. Follow South Street straight until you reach the traffic circle, then take the first exit onto Roosevelt Boulevard. Smathers Beach will be approximately 1.5 miles ahead on your left side. There are bike racks available near the beach entrance for you to secure your bicycle.

• Public Bus

  From the downtown area, locate the nearest bus stop for the Key West Transit. You can take the Route 1 bus towards the College of the Florida Keys. The bus will take you along Roosevelt Boulevard. Get off at the Smathers Beach stop, which is close to 2601 S Roosevelt Blvd. After disembarking, follow the signs to the beach entrance.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you prefer a quicker option, you can hail a taxi or use a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft. Simply input 'Smathers Beach, 2601 S Roosevelt Blvd, Key West, FL 33040' as your destination. The driver will take you directly to the beach. Please note that there is usually a drop-off area near the entrance to the beach.
