Getting There

• Car

  To reach Egmont Key Lighthouse by car, start from any location in Nature Coast and head towards St. Petersburg. If you are coming from the north, take US-19 South. Follow the signs toward I-275 South, which will take you directly to St. Petersburg. Once you arrive in St. Petersburg, follow signs for the Sunshine Skyway Bridge (I-275 South). After crossing the bridge, take the exit for Pinellas Bayway (exit 17) and continue onto Pinellas Bayway. Follow the road until you reach the southern tip of the island where you can find the Egmont Key ferry terminal. There is no direct road access to Egmont Key, so you will need to take a ferry or private boat from here. Be aware that parking fees may apply at the ferry terminal.

• Ferry

  From the Pinellas Bayway ferry terminal, you will need to board a ferry to Egmont Key. Ferries typically operate from Fort De Soto Park and other nearby locations. Make sure to check the ferry schedule in advance as they may have limited hours. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes. There is usually a fee for the ferry service, which can range from $15 to $25 per person round trip. Once you arrive at Egmont Key, there are walking paths that will lead you to the lighthouse.

• Public Transportation

  If you do not have access to a car, you can use public transportation to reach the ferry terminal. Start by taking a bus to St. Petersburg. From there, transfer to a local shuttle service or taxi that will take you to the Pinellas Bayway ferry terminal. Make sure to confirm the shuttle or taxi service in advance to ensure you can make it in time for the ferry. It is advisable to plan your trip according to the ferry schedule to avoid long waits.
