If you are driving, start by navigating to I-75 S from your current location in North Florida. Depending on your starting point, you may need to take local roads to connect to I-75 S. Continue on I-75 S for approximately 120 miles until you reach exit 158 for FL-867 S toward Fort Myers. Merge onto FL-867 S and follow it until you reach the intersection with US-41 S. Take US-41 S and continue for about 15 miles until you reach the bridge to Sanibel Island. Cross the bridge, and once on Sanibel Island, follow Periwinkle Way until you reach 112 Periwinkle Way, where the Sanibel Lighthouse is located. There is a toll for crossing the bridge, which is typically around $6.00 per vehicle.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you can take a Greyhound bus or a local transit service to Fort Myers. After arriving in Fort Myers, you will need to transfer to a local bus service, such as the LeeTran system. Take the LeeTran Route 50 (Fort Myers to Sanibel) bus, which will take you across the bridge to Sanibel Island. Once on the island, you can walk or take a local taxi service to reach the Sanibel Lighthouse at 112 Periwinkle Way. Be sure to check the LeeTran schedule for bus times and fares, which typically range from $1.00 to $2.00 per ride.
