If you're driving from the Northeast Florida region, you will want to access I-75 S. Get on I-295 S from your location and merge onto I-75 S toward Naples. Continue on I-75 S for approximately 140 miles. Take exit 141 for FL-865 W toward Sanibel Island. Follow FL-865 W (Summerlin Rd) for about 10 miles, and then continue onto Periwinkle Way. The Sanibel Lighthouse will be on your right at 112 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL 33957. Be prepared for a parking fee in the nearby public lots, which can range from $2 to $5 per hour.

If you prefer using public transportation, you can take a Greyhound or Megabus from various locations in Northeast Florida to Fort Myers. Once in Fort Myers, you would need to take the LeeTran bus service route 50 to the Summerlin Square transfer point. From there, transfer to route 140, which goes directly to Sanibel Island. Note that the bus schedules may vary, so check the LeeTran website for the most up-to-date information. The total cost for the bus trip from Fort Myers to Sanibel Island is approximately $2.00 each way. Once you arrive at the Sanibel Island bus stop, it's a short walk (about 10 minutes) to the Sanibel Lighthouse.
