From central Fort Walton Beach, walk to the nearest bus stop, which could be at the Fort Walton Beach Transit Center on Eglin Parkway. Take the Route 61 bus towards Destin. Stay on the bus for about 20-25 minutes until you reach the stop closest to Henderson Beach State Park. Disembark at the stop near Emerald Coast Parkway and walk approximately 0.5 miles south on Emerald Coast Parkway until you reach the park entrance at 17000 Emerald Coast Pkwy.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start from the center of Fort Walton Beach and head east towards the Okaloosa Island Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight onto Scenic Highway 98. Follow the highway for about 6 miles, enjoying the scenic views. When you reach Emerald Coast Parkway, turn left. Henderson Beach State Park will be on your right after about 1 mile.

This walk is approximately 6 miles and may take about 2 hours depending on your pace.
