Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Pensacola Beach, start by heading west on Via De Luna Drive toward Fort Pickens Road. Continue straight for approximately 2 miles, then merge onto FL-399 W towards Pensacola. After about 5 miles, take the exit toward US-98 W. Merge onto US-98 W and follow the signs for 8 miles. Take the exit onto FL-295 N. After about 2 miles, merge onto Gulf Beach Highway. Continue for another 5 miles, and you will see Big Lagoon State Park on your left at 12301 Gulf Beach Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32507. Note that there is a nominal entrance fee to the park, so be prepared to pay at the entrance.

    If you prefer public transportation, you can take Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT) bus route 61, which runs from Pensacola Beach to the nearest stop at Gulf Beach Highway. Check the ECAT schedule for the most current times. Once you arrive at the Gulf Beach Highway stop, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile west along Gulf Beach Highway to reach Big Lagoon State Park. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and stay hydrated, as this may take some time.
