Bicycle
Start your journey at the Pensacola Bayfront Park located at 100 Bayfront Pkwy, Pensacola, FL 32502. From the park, head south on South Barracks Street until you reach Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street and continue until you reach the intersection with South Palafox Street. Turn right onto South Palafox Street and follow it until it merges into US-98 E. Stay on US-98 E for approximately 12 miles. Once you reach the Pensacola Beach area, look for signs directing you to Fort Pickens. The road will eventually lead you to Fort Pickens Road. Continue on this road until you arrive at Fort Pickens, located at 1400 Fort Pickens Rd, Pensacola Beach, FL 32561. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
Public Transit
Begin your trip at the nearest bus stop at 200 S Palafox St, Pensacola, FL 32502. Board the Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT) bus Route 61, which travels towards Pensacola Beach. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Pensacola Beach Transit Center. From there, transfer to the Fort Pickens Shuttle service, which operates seasonally. The shuttle will take you directly to Fort Pickens. Please check the ECAT schedule and the Fort Pickens Shuttle times ahead of your visit for the most accurate information.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to walk, start at the downtown area of Pensacola. Head south towards the waterfront, following South Barracks Street until it turns into South Palafox Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with US-98 E. Once there, you can follow the pedestrian paths and sidewalks leading towards Pensacola Beach. Note that this walk is quite long (approximately 12 miles) and may take several hours, so plan accordingly with comfortable footwear and hydration.
