From downtown Sarasota, you can take the Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) bus route 99. Board the bus at the SCAT Transfer Station on 1st St. and Lemon Ave. Ride the bus towards St. Petersburg. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the Sunshine Skyway Park & Ride stop. From there, it's a short walk to Maximo Park. Follow the signs towards Pinellas Point Dr S and continue walking until you reach the entrance of the park.

If you're comfortable riding a bike, you can rent one from a local shop in Sarasota. Start at the Sarasota Bayfront Park and head south on the Legacy Trail. Continue on the trail until you reach the intersection with US-41. Turn right onto US-41 and follow the road signs towards St. Petersburg. Once you reach Pinellas Point Dr S, follow it to the entrance of Maximo Park, which will be on your left.
