Car
If you're traveling by car, start from any location in Southwest Florida and head towards Miami. Use the I-75 N highway, which is the major route connecting various parts of Southwest Florida to Miami. Once you reach Miami, follow signs for US-1 S. Continue on US-1 S until you reach the entrance of Biscayne National Park. Take the exit towards the park and proceed to the visitor center where you can get more information about the available boat tours to Boca Chita Key, where the lighthouse is located.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus to Miami from your Southwest Florida location. Greyhound and Megabus offer services from various cities. Once in Miami, use the Miami-Dade Transit system (Metrobus or Metrorail) to reach the nearest stop to Biscayne National Park. However, please note that public transport does not directly reach the park, so you will need to use a rideshare service or taxi from the nearest transit stop to the park entrance. Once at the park, you can book a boat tour to Boca Chita Key.
Boat Tour
After arriving at Biscayne National Park, you will need to take a boat tour to reach Boca Chita Lighthouse. There are several tour operators available at the park. Prices for the boat tours can vary, typically ranging from $30 to $50 per person, depending on the operator. Be sure to check the schedule for the boat departures and reserve your spot in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons.
