Walking
If you are in the Historic District of St. Augustine, the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument is easily accessible by foot. Start at the Plaza de la Constitución, located at 1 King St. Head south on St. George St. for about two blocks, where you'll find the historic architecture of the district. Continue to the end of St. George St. and turn right onto S Castillo Dr. Walk straight for about five minutes, and you will see the Castillo de San Marcos on your left at 11 S Castillo Dr.
Biking
For those who prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in the Historic District. Start by heading southwest towards the waterfront along Avenida Menendez. Continue on this road until you reach the intersection with S Castillo Dr. Turn right and follow S Castillo Dr. for a short distance until you reach the Castillo de San Marcos at 11 S Castillo Dr. This route is scenic and allows you to enjoy views of the bay.
Public Transportation (Trolley)
Catch the Old Town Trolley at one of its many stops in the Historic District. Make sure to get off at the Castillo de San Marcos stop. The trolley operates frequently, and it will take you directly to the entrance. The stop is located right outside the monument, making it easy to access.
