    To reach Historic Fort Desoto via public transportation, start by taking the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) bus route #100X or #300 from downtown St. Petersburg to the Bay Pines area. From the Bay Pines area, you will need to transfer to the PSTA route #74 towards Tierra Verde. Get off at the nearest stop to the entrance of Fort De Soto Park. Please note that the bus schedule may vary, so check the PSTA website for the latest information. Once you arrive at the park, there is a $5 entry fee for vehicles, and you may need to walk or bike to reach the fort.
