La Quartier du Palais, or Palace Quarter, in Aix-en-Provence, is a captivating area steeped in history and cultural significance. However, the French Revolution interrupted the project, and it wasn't until 1832 that the building was finally completed under the direction of Michel Penchaud. Monuments in honor of Portalis and Siméon, two important figures in the world of law, were erected in front of the palace in the 19th century by Ramus, an artist from Aix-en-Provence.Before the Palais de Justice, the area was occupied by the Palais Comtal, the palace of the Counts of Provence.
