Driving
From Passy, follow the D43 towards Plaine-Joux. Continue past Plaine-Joux following signs for Lac Vert. Limited free parking is available near the Restaurant du Lac Vert, but it fills up quickly, especially during peak season. If the lot is full, return to the larger Plaine-Joux parking area and walk the remaining distance (approximately 30 minutes). Note that a barrier exists between Plaine-Joux and the Lac Vert parking area. During July and August, free shuttle buses operate between the Plaine-Joux parking lot and Lac Vert. Outside this period, access beyond Plaine-Joux may be restricted to those with reduced mobility; inquire at the Passy tourist office for access codes upon presentation of proof.

Take bus line Y85 to the 'Plaine-Joux' stop. Check the Borini bus website for the most up-to-date schedule. From the Plaine-Joux bus stop, follow the road towards Lac Vert (approximately a 30-minute walk). Be aware of the barrier between Plaine-Joux and Lac Vert parking; during peak season, a free shuttle may be available. Otherwise, the remainder of the journey is on foot. Bus fare is approximately €3 for a single trip.

From Plaine-Joux, locate the small chalet on the edge of the forest and follow the path leading downhill towards Lac Vert. The well-marked trail passes under a paragliding launch area. At the intersection with the paved road, continue straight ahead, overlooking the lake and Mont Blanc. Continue along this path to the Restaurant du Lac Vert and the lake itself. The walk from Plaine-Joux takes approximately 30 minutes and involves a descent of around 100 meters.
