From Sallanches-Megève train station, the most economical way to reach Megève is by taking the Y83 regional bus. The bus station in Megève is located at 1416 Route Nationale, a central location for accessing the village. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. A single ticket costs around €3 for adults. Children under 6 travel free. Ensure you check the bus schedule in advance, especially during off-peak seasons.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxis are readily available at Sallanches-Megève train station. A taxi ride to Megève typically takes 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Expect to pay around €40-€60 for the trip. Driving
If driving from Sallanches, follow the D1212 road towards Megève. The drive is approximately 12km and takes about 20 minutes, depending on traffic and weather conditions. Upon arrival in Megève, several parking options are available, including underground parking at the Casino, the Tourist Office, Rochebrune cable car, and the village center. Parking fees generally start at €2.50 per hour, with daily rates around €20-€30. Free parking is available in blue zones, but these require a parking disc and have time limits. Be aware that during peak season, parking can be limited, so arriving early is advisable.
Meg'Bus Shuttle
Megève offers free shuttle services (Meg'Bus) within the resort, facilitating transport to various points of interest, including ski lifts and main village areas. These shuttles operate on several lines, including routes connecting Rochebrune, Mont d'Arbois, and Jaillet. Cable Car
To access the Rochebrune area, take the Rochebrune cable car located at 220 Route du Téléphérique. A round-trip ticket costs €22.50 for adults and €20 for children. Parking is available near the cable car, with underground and open-air options. The Rochebrune cable car is the first cable car in France for skiers.
