The building's architecture reflects the Dominican order's commitment to poverty and preaching, with its simple yet imposing design.The church, constructed entirely of brick, features a single nave divided by a central colonnade. This creates a monumental perspective, leading to the highlight of the church: the 'palm tree' vault. Here, a single column branches out into 22 ribs, resembling the leaves of a palm tree. The relics of St. Thomas Aquinas rest beneath the altar.The Couvent also includes a cloister, built between 1307 and 1310, with four galleries supported by marble columns. The chapter house, refectory, and Saint-Antonin chapel, adorned with polychrome frescoes, further showcase the convent's rich history and artistic heritage.
