Walking
The Fontaine Souterraine is located beneath Place Saint-Pierre in the center of Airvault. From most points in the town center, it is easily accessible on foot. Look for signs pointing towards the Abbatiale (Abbey Church), as the fountain is located near its parvis. Once on Place Saint-Pierre, locate the stone staircase leading down to the fountain entrance. There is no admission fee to visit the Fontaine Souterraine.
Public Transport
If arriving by bus, disembark at the Airvault Gare Routière (bus station). From there, walk approximately 5-10 minutes to Place Saint-Pierre in the town center, following signs for the Abbatiale. The Fontaine Souterraine is located beneath the square. Bus tickets within the Deux-Sèvres region typically cost around €2-€4 for a short trip.
Parking
If arriving by car, parking is available in several areas around Airvault's town center. One option is the car park on Rue Faubourg des Cyprès, a short walk from Place Saint-Pierre. Parking is generally free. From the car park, walk towards the Abbatiale; the Fontaine Souterraine is located beneath the square in front of the church. Be aware that parking may be limited during peak tourist season or local events.
