Bus
From Avignon Central Station (Gare d'Avignon Centre), take Bus Line 23 towards Roussillon. The bus departs frequently, so check the schedule for exact times. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the 'Roussillon - Village' stop. From there, walk towards the center of Roussillon, following the signs for 'Sentier des Ocres'. It’s about a 15-minute walk uphill, and you will see signs directing you to the trail entrance.
Train and Walk
From Avignon Central Station, take a regional train (TER) towards Apt. The journey takes around 30 minutes. Alight at the Roussillon station. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to the village (about a 10-minute walk). Once in the village, look for signs to 'Sentier des Ocres', which will lead you to the trailhead in another 10-15 minutes.
Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the local bike rental shops in Avignon. From the city center, take the D900 road towards Roussillon, which is about a 30-minute ride. Upon arrival in Roussillon, park your bike at a designated bike rack near the village center and walk to 'Sentier des Ocres', which is a 15-minute walk from the village center.
Walking
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can walk from Avignon to Roussillon, which is approximately a 40 km distance. This is a long trek and takes around 8-10 hours. Start from the Avignon city center, heading towards the D901 road. Follow the signs to Roussillon, enjoying the beautiful countryside along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry sufficient water and snacks.
