Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Caen Train Station (Gare de Caen), exit the station and head south on Rue de la Gare. Continue straight for about 600 meters until you reach Place de la République. From there, turn left onto Rue du Vaugueux. Follow this road as it curves to the right and becomes Rue des Chanoinesses. Continue walking until you reach the entrance to the Abbey of Saint-Étienne (Abbaye aux Hommes). The Musée d'initiation à la nature is located within the grounds of this abbey, specifically at Enceinte de l'Abbaye aux Hommes. Look for signs directing you to the museum, which is approximately 300 meters from the Abbey entrance.

• Bus

  From the city center, locate the nearest bus stop serving lines 1 or 2. Board the bus heading towards 'Hôpital' or 'Fleury-sur-Orne'. Get off at 'Abbaye aux Hommes' stop. Once you exit the bus, you will be at the entrance of the Abbey of Saint-Étienne. The Musée d'initiation à la nature is situated within the abbey grounds. Follow the signs toward the museum, which is about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle from one of the bike-sharing stations around Caen. Head towards the city center and follow the cycle lanes to Rue Saint-Étienne. Continue straight until you reach the Abbey of Saint-Étienne. There are bike racks available at the entrance of the abbey. The museum is within the abbey grounds, and you can easily walk to it from where you park your bike.
