Access is from Courseulles (East) or Arromanches (West) via the D514. Parking is available on-site for €3.50 per day, with proceeds supporting the memorial's maintenance.

    The British Normandy Memorial stands as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made during the Normandy campaign. Inaugurated on June 6, 2021, the 77th anniversary of D-Day, the memorial commemorates the 22,442 individuals who died under British command between June 6 and August 31, 1944. These individuals came from over 30 countries and served in various branches, including the Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, and Special Operations Executive.The memorial's design, created by British architect Liam O'Connor, incorporates 160 stone columns inscribed with the names of the fallen. From above, the memorial takes the shape of the Union Jack. A bronze sculpture by David Williams-Ellis depicts soldiers coming ashore, capturing the spirit of the D-Day landings. The D-Day Wall of Memorial Court displays the names of the 1,746 who died on D-Day itself.The location of the memorial, overlooking Gold Beach, was chosen by British veterans. The site is accessible via a pathway that tells the story of the Normandy campaign.
