From Cagnes-sur-Mer city center (Square Bourdet bus station), take the free shuttle bus, Navette 44, which runs every 20 minutes and takes you directly to Haut de Cagnes, stopping near the Château-Musée Grimaldi. This is the easiest and most cost-effective way to reach the village. The shuttle operates from 7:00 AM to 10:30 PM (0:30 AM in July/August).
Walking
For those who enjoy a scenic walk, it's possible to walk from Cagnes-sur-Mer to Haut de Cagnes. From the town center, follow signs towards Haut de Cagnes (Bourg Medieval). The walk involves a steep climb and takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Start from Parking de la Gare Routière or Parking de la Place Sainte Luce, then follow Chemin des Canebiers, Montée du Pérousin and the narrow streets to Montée de la Bourgade. Be prepared for a strenuous uphill walk.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxis and ride-sharing services (like Uber) are available in Cagnes-sur-Mer. A taxi ride from the Cagnes-sur-Mer train station or the city center to Haut de Cagnes will cost approximately €15-€20, depending on traffic and the time of day. Be sure to confirm the price with the driver before starting the journey, and ensure they know the route to the top of the village near the Château.
Driving
Driving to Haut de Cagnes is possible, but parking within the village is limited, especially during peak season. Free parking spaces are available but can be difficult to find. Consider parking in Cagnes-sur-Mer and taking the free shuttle. If driving, follow signs to 'Centre Ville – Cagnes sur Mer' and then the brown signs 'Haut de Cagnes – Bourg Medieval'. Once in the village, follow signs to 'Château – Eglise'. There is a parking at Planastel, but it can only accommodate cars weighting less than 1700 kg.
